How Clubs Operate

  • Sign in at the club computer on arrival.
  • Warm-up hits for 20 minutes.
  • Official games start at 7:20 PM, with new rounds scheduled every 20 minutes (buzzer alerts).
  • Games are scheduled so members play mainly with similar grade players, plus some with higher or lower grades.
  • Ranking games are held as needed to keep competition fair.

Expectations from Players

  • Show respectful conduct on and off court.
  • Follow club rules and badminton guidelines at all times.
  • Wear Only badminton shoes.
  • Consume food & drinks outside court areas.

What to Expect at a Club Night

  • Fair rotation:.
  • Most players play 6–8 games if arriving on time and staying the full session.
  • Some variation is natural due to attendance, scheduling, and timing.
  • Flexibility is encouraged, especially with new members or visitors.

Game Scheduling Format

  • Average busy night: minimum 8 games per player.
  • Late arrivals or early departures may play fewer games.
  • Random games scheduled occasionally.
  • Rotation system ensures lower grades also get chances to play with higher grades

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. If I have a 1 club / week membership, can I attend other club nights?

Your membership covers the specific club night you have signed up for.

  • Attendance at that session is free.
  • If you attend any other club sessions, a visitor fee will apply.

2. Can I upgrade my membership from 1 day/week to 3 or 4 days/week before the end of my membership period?

Yes. Full-year memberships can be upgraded at any time by paying the difference in the annual fee. The upgraded membership will still run from the original start date of your membership.

3. How do you monitor which club sessions a member is eligible for?

All membership details are stored in our computerized database.

  • Eligible members’ names will appear on the sign-in list for each session.
  • If your name does not appear for a particular session, you may only play as a visitor.

4. Can I transfer my membership to a different club night?

Yes. Transfers can be made at any time for an administration fee of $15.

5. How many games can I expect to play during a club night?

Generally:

  • Each member can expect to play at least 6- 8  games with generally  two consecutive games unless there is an unusually high turnout.
  • The number of members accepted into each club night is capped, based on average attendance and the number of courts available, to ensure fair play.

6. How does the grading/ranking system work?

Players are graded into categories such as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, E1, E2, with color-coded identifiers.

  • Games are scheduled based on both grading and ranking to ensure members play with others of similar ability.

7. How are new members graded?

  • Initially, new members self-assess their playing level.
  • Feedback from other players is also considered.
  • After a few weeks, a formal trial will be organized to assign the most suitable grade.

8. Is the membership fee refundable if I withdraw?

Yes, under the following conditions:

  • Within 30 days for a change of mind.
  • Anytime with a doctor’s certificate confirming injury.
  • Refunds are calculated as follows:
  • The number of weeks passed will be charged at the visitor rate, regardless of attendance.
  • Any remaining balance will be refunded.
