Last year, Badminton in New Zealand participated in Voice of the Participant, an annual survey initiative led by Sport NZ and Nielsen Sport NZ that aims to capture and interpret survey data in a meaningful way so that NSO’s Associations, Regions and Clubs can utilise the information to improve the overall badminton experience for all members and casual players.
Badminton New Zealand has published the key findings to our website for those members, clubs and associations who wish to look at the results. These findings were presented to Associations in late 2017 at the annual Badminton NZ conference.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE WITH THE FINDINGS
Voice of the Participant has provided Badminton New Zealand and Associations with valuable information that we are able to utilise in building the capability of regions. Key focuses are player experience including communication, coaching and opportunities for playing with particular emphasis on young people and casual players.
WHAT NEXT?
We now have some good baseline data to build upon and are undertaking Voice of the Participant again in 2018 so we can continue to build a picture of the badminton landscape, identify any further areas of need and best practice.
